Michelle is passionate about providing expectant mothers and their partners with knowledge and tools to enhance their confidence for the journey of labour and birth. Knowledgeable support before, during and after birth is connected with many positive outcomes for the family.
Michelle has called the North home for more than a decade. Starting her northern journey in Inuvik, which she called home for six years, she then ventured south to Yellowknife, where she currently lives with her husband and daughters.
After completing a Masters of Science in Medicine in 2009, Michelle then went on to begin the process of becoming a Birth Doula. After three years of studying and assisting couples through their birth experiences, Michelle completed the requirements for a Birth Doula through Doula’s of North America (DONA) in May of 2013. She then went on to pursue certification through CAPPA as a Childbirth Educator and completed the requirements in March of 2015.
Whether you are expecting your first or fourth baby, Michelle looks forward to extending her knowledge of birth and support techniques to you and your birth partner to enhance your birth experience. She offers her private prenatal series called The Confident Birth, Birth Doula services and helpful advice on breastfeeding.
