Kayan moved to Yellowknife in late 2016 with her husband from Ontario. Kayan studied massage therapy at Georgian College in Barrie ON, graduating in 2012 from the 2200 hour program, and is actively registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
Kayan offers treatments that cover a wide spectrum from relaxation & wellness, pregnancy, and postural dysfunctions, to condition specific techniques (ie, headaches, strains etc) as well as many others. She uses general Swedish techniques, and she also participated in a therapeutic taping course in February 2014. While she is still learning, she is able to provide this modality for her clients to decrease pain, spasms, and help weak muscles.
She believes that relaxation is an important part of healing and treating injuries and discomforts, which is reflected in her treatments. While she can dive deep into an issue and loosen up your tight muscles, there is an element of relaxation involved in every massage she does.
Kayan decided to become a registered massage therapist because she had always had an interest in massage as she had given her friends and family massages while growing up. She loves working in the calming environment of a massage room, and seeing how happy and relieved her clients are after receiving one of her treatments.
When Kayan is not at the clinic she plans to get to know the city she now calls home with her husband.
