Dr. Nicole Redvers, ND, was born and raised in the NWT, and therefore has a very personal passion in giving northerners options in healthcare service. Her Indigenous background motivates her to help bridge the gap between modern advances in medical science and more traditional forms of healing.
Dr. Redvers is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, ON, as well as a graduate from the University of Lethbridge, where she completed a Bachelor of Science degree with pre-medical requirements. She is currently doing a Masters of Public Health (MPH) at The Dartmouth Institute For Health Policy & Clinical Practice through the Geisel School of Medicine in Hanover, NH. She is a member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors as well as the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia where she is licensed.
Dr. Redvers has a passion for health work in the developing world, and has volunteered on mobile clinics offering integrative medicine in Africa, Asia, and Central America over the last ten years. She is currently the Board Chair of the Arctic Indigenous Wellness Foundation, a registered Canadian charity with the mandate of culturally reviving traditional and indigenous based healing services and practices in the north. Dr. Redvers is a published author of the trade paperback, The Science of the Sacred: Bridging Global Indigenous Medicine Systems and Modern Scientific Principles. North Atlantic Books (Feb. 2019), and has been published in academic journals.
Dr. Redvers has a special interest in Functional Medicine approaches to health, with skill in gastroenterology, dermatology, and many other chronic diseases affecting our population today. She currently works with children and adults in her family practice to further empower patients to manage and achieve their health and wellness goals.
Note to Patients: The NWT does not currently have a regulating body for naturopathic medicine because of the low number of NDs practicing here. Dr. Redvers is therefore licensed out of the province of British Columbia where Naturopathic Doctors have the broadest scope of practice in Canada.
