Amy was born and raised in the countryside of Alberta outside of Edmonton. This is where she did Makami College’s 3000 hour Clinical Massage Therapy program. She has been practicing since 2016 and is registered with the Remedial Massage Therapy Association of Alberta. Amy has experience working as an RMT in a physiotherapy clinic where she learned to treat injury from vehicle accidents and the workplace. She is able adapt to many health conditions and always puts safety of the client and efficiency of treatment as top priority.
In the massage session with Amy she likes to use relaxation as the first step into the healing process, from there she will apply deep tissue techniques where needed. Along with this she emphasizes movement of the muscles and joints being treated by incorporating passive stretching and movement, to help bring proper posture and prevent further aches and pains. At the end of the treatment she can send you home with stretches or exercises that can maximize the healing benefit of the massage and help realign posture.
Amy has held a lifelong interest in the body and natural ways of healing. Health and wellness has always been important to her and she finds it rewarding to be able to help people feel better through manual therapy. In her free time Amy likes to do just about anything that involves movement weather it be hiking, biking, stretching or just going for a walk. With an adventurous personality she is looking forward to discovering the beauty of Yellowknife and surrounding natural areas.
